Forcing students into a life and death tournament for the amusement of these so-called goddesses makes them at least as evil as the omnicidal demon kings.

Lala-Chan is neither dumb nor as oblivious as she portrays herself. I bet she is in their team to investigate MC. The other teams in the class weirdly do not have a goddess. Lala always seems to be present in a compromised state (sleeping) when MC talks to the cat. She was awake at night when the MC was fighting the evil hero “I called for aid for the guards”. Also Lala in the first chapter used a completely different speech mannerism then she does after meeting MC. The childlike goddess is actually a school spy.
