and that whole chapter is why we like Nagi. Quick thinking, other-centered, focused, and has fun with the nerdiest things. He is a genuine good catch. But if he’s paying any attention to either his prior words to Erika’s dad (I want to stay engaged) or to what Erika just said, he is already in a committed relationship prior to diving in with Hiro. Boy has the awareness of roadkill.
And he left Hiro on unread, which means he didn’t bother to do the basic thing, most basic in all boyfriend life…tell her he was leaving town. A one minute text “Erika’s dad has ordered me to go out of the country for…something. Will bring you back something. Had great time on date as weird as it turned out. See you soon.” Seriously…how can he be that clueless?
