I’m guessing the two when combined are what’s needed for mortals to surpass the “wall”. One has no talent nor fear of death, but is able to retain the knowledge of the previous life and experiences. The other is incredibly talented and uses the fear of death to evolve further and further. The reincarnator is able to start the talented one off to a HUGE start with each new life using the knowledge both accumulated previously. It’s a fantastic concept.
