The destruction of the city by the freed demon happened before it “should have” because he stoped the other outer in the magic tower. So not telling him at this point is just dumb. The tower master could do so much more to better prepare for the future with that knowledge
The reasoning of not wanting to change the future too much is dumb. He’s already saved countless lives that should have been lost, trained people way beyond what they should be at this time, and reached a status along with other commoners that challenges the worlds system that shouldn’t have happened, and introduced techniques and technology to the tower master that shouldn’t be available at this point in time. He has gone well beyond where not wanting to change the future too much is a valid excuse, not to mention letting someone like the tower master, who we know is reliable and won’t abuse it in a bad way, could only improve their odds in the future. He’s one of the most intelligent, powerful, influential, and most importantly good hearted people in this world, it could only be an asset to improve MCs reach with his influence. Also, it’s not like the order of the shadow worlds appearing would change, since that doesn’t seem to be something their actions in current time can affect, so some of the important things to not change likely wouldn’t change anyway. There are plenty of reasons I can think of why MC should and would be hesitant in telling him, but that is easily the dumbest and most invalid excuse the author could have used.
This is good storytelling, the mc pays a heavy price for being op and a friend who trusts him even though he doesn’t explain anything
Butterfly effect. Right now MC thinks that telling Zod everything will change the future too much… Problem is MC has already changed the future, just by using his future knowledge and experience, everything has changed. I’m sure he’ll face new events that he’s not aware of. If he was aware of this, maybe telling his party or at least Zod that he returned to the past after defeating lvl 7 shadow world dragon god, and all possible events that might happen, would prevent them…
