I love the guild receptionist character. She’s clearly experienced and competent, she knows how to survive contact with the nobility, she’s impressed by MC but not interested in him romantically. There is so much personality in her characterization, and she feels like a real person, not a satellite to the MC.
It must be blatantly obvious to all the platinum swordsmen that have seen him in action that his skills are as good as, if not better than theirs and he is no beginner. It’s a bit ridiculous that it doesn’t matter how good you are, at the guild you can only move up the levels one at a time by doing mundane quests related to your ‘level’ like collecting the golem heads.
Well, that’s quite a surprising reaction from the other adventurers.
In other manga, they usually challenge the MC to prove his worth or come up with excuses (e.g. bribes) to explain his promotion. It make the most sense to me when parties start trying to recruit the newbie MC.
