By trying to seize world she has not forgotten the past. So, she is not honoring his death at all, instead is spitting on it. She is a modern day villain playing the victim card.
disappointing development tbh.. If the mother was here ofc the 2 of them would have died there is no doubt about it. So I guess she had not to be here but the explanation why she’s living is bad, given Mc had some trouble against her.
The short side story of her being an orphan is uninteresting too imo, not giving explanation for her ambitions. I guess it’s only for her ties with the old man to somewhat justify her grudge against mc (as if she wasn’t already eager to harm him enough)
I don’t understand why she thought she was strong when it’s not the case or the old man’s sacrificing himself, i don’t understand either where her ambitions come from when she seems to be under the influence of someone else.
So yeah we got a hint of another force involved but those 2 last chapters feels pointless except for that, idk maybe too rushed. I would have loved for them to talk more or for MC to completely crush them with the power up he recently gained, but something in between like makes me feel unfulfilled.
About her blaming the MC for her guardian s death:
It’s very typical, every villain to think like this, blaming others, not seeing one ones faults. I guess that is id kind of the crux of villainy, really?
We all have parts of this, we look with very different eyes on the wrongdoings of people we like and people we dislike, thats in out nature, and a hard impuls to fight.We see fault with groups we do not belong to while being blind to our own. Like the person replying under that “bitch” comment with “women are emotional” like that is a bad trait, and also overlooking that all humans are the same this way. Overlooking all the examples of men being overly emotional that is seen every day, being it drunken quarrels, killing a peaceful woman in a car saying “I’m not mad at you” or screamin “you are a nasty woman” at a journalist asking a question that is embarrassing is a good example of how our brain works: We take in information that strengthen what we already believe, and we are blind for those things that go against what we believe.
Because we are made for living in groups and getting along with that group we are made to look at our own people different from other people. We are not made for seing the world and other people as they are. It is hard work trying to do so, for some harder than others. Emotion is also a part of this, many people gets very emotional, angry, irritated and triggered by this notion or just reading something like this if they have a need to be better than others, or if they have a fragile self.
The Buddhist goal with meditation is seeing the world as it is, to be able to face one owns fears, anger and illusions and find peace with just observing how all of this plays out. To not become one of the villains who blame others to such a degree that one think one might do anything without any care for others. To not think others pain is irrelevant and only one owns is important.
