For many chapters is seems there is no clear goal for the mc expect him becoming stronger, encountering random situations and outclevering someone to gain something from it. The story arc feel unrelated to each other an he completely ignores the potential of his sword hearing ability. He could have collected a bunch of swords and learn from all of them
