This would have been a nice redemption arc for him to finally realise that family is more important than traditions.
It would have been… If we didn’t already know that he is 100% willing to have his daughter decapitated if she was still deperate for some affection from him.
I feel like his only redemption arc at this point is eventually finding out what he did and killing himself.
How messed up and deluded do you have to be to carry on a tradition that the father figure must abandon his emotional familial ties just for the sake of the family’s reputation? It’s just dumb.
