Interesting Cossette might have the same type of mind control magic that the mage has probably being utilised similarly to when he compelled his sister to let go of him at the party, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

That has to be some kind of charm magic she was about to use. It’s lazy way to make the villain more dangerous and also for us to forgive the father for what happened in before the time travel because “oh no he was charmed the entire time so it wasn’t his fault”. This is the eighth antagonist in this exact genre that I’ve seen who has some kind of mind control power.
