The first guy is biased trash, the next person (tech girl) is too eager, and the head of constellations is clearly a rat. The last one is more of a guess, but everything fits:
- the tech girl is smitten with him – basically the author setting up future plot and allies for the guy when he’s outed, as in, the tech girl will be blinded by infatuation and trust him blindly and cause trouble somehow (THIS IS AN OBVIOUS TROPE PLEASE TELL ME YOU ALL SEE IT)
- Appears to be an ally to the main character and his Mentor (see Hero’s Journey) but at the same time betrays his interests (releasing confidential information on constellation contact) AGAIN THIS IS AN OBVIOUS TROPE PLEASE TELL ME YOU ALL SEE IT
