That could have been a protagonist.
Imagine, if your whole life was spent training your skill where you could summon magical shuriken, and you spent years and YEARS honing it, getting to be on a great team, a special skill coalescing in your mind, getting recognition, and you go on a trip to help protect some schoolkids, and your life just ends on that trip.
You know, sometimes it sucks having empathy like I do.
It makes you think through all of this. That could have been someone important to the story. Past, present, future, all of that could have been shown.
But no.
She dies to a monster.
All that potential going to waste really sucks. That’s my worst fear, high potential, taken by the horns, just to go to waste.
