I think he should have at least maimed all present on the field with say wind cutter at the knees, if only to be a deterrent to ALL people that would accept a contract to kill someone. If you accept a kill contract you should be prepared to lose your own, or worse.

If only he killed them there and then in front of everybody where no complaints could be filed because they underhandedly tried to use multiple people, I think they will continue to pose problems in the future.
