They could have aimed for a treaty, but they just had to choose death.

If it was me, I’d prepare a dozen full sets of armor with top grade enchantments for the 12 strongest soldiers or so, to make them even stronger and completely unstoppable. To hell with “My weapons shouldn’t be used for war”, they truly asked for it themselves!

Thing is, without it MC would be intrenched in his new home country and city. He has the dungeon/maze/labyrinth there, and doesn’t need to go anywhere. The conflict there is also gone as he defeated the two biggest powers, and is friends with the 3rd. He also has become the biggest power behind that.
But him staying there is going to get old fast. And the author did set up two Checkhov’s countries (countries ain’t guns, so I won’t call them guns).
So off to new places.
