With a giant zombie blocking all paths of retreat, that would have been a great time to use earth magic to create spikes or crush them against the giant. Or even before that plan a pit fall with oil to light up. Molo. tov cocktails?

Given how completely surronded by fire they were, unless they had Wind and Water magic to protect themselves, they’d still die to heat and carbon dioxide&monoxide poisoning.
