Lol I don’t think writers understand how valuable was Mayonnaise in the medieval ages.
France literally kept an entire island on figurative shackles and the court chefs as practical prisoners to keep the recipe from leaking to other courts lol.
If MC was making that stuff it’s hard to believe than a Noble of high ranking wouldn’t just throw him into his kitchen and force him to make it for him as much as he wanted.

Tomatoes don’t really have a strong smell. Tomato sauce is a different story only because of what you put in it, not the tomatoes themselves.
