AHhh yes… the “I only tried to kill you and your deciple! dont go overboard and try to unreasonably kill me! you ruthless monster” moment. one of the most irritating tropes in xianxia sects/academies. Its usually a precursor to the MC either leaving or the said place getting destroyed, likely by the northern sect that was sending people to scout the area and kill witnesses.

I got doomslayer vibes when he pulled out the talisment and said “i am your Divine Retribution” just like the quote “The only thing they fear is you” from Doom.
The moment she used the talisman, her master got notified and was able to return within seconds. 
On a side note, this dead old guy was pretty dang stupid. If you understand that someone of the Revolving Light stage shouldn’t be able to beat-up a Leaving Aperture stage, then why didn’t it occur to you that he’s just hiding his cultivation?
