It would have been nice if she had given a heads up about what she is aiming to to in that meeting.

Meh, I think it would have been more interesting if she had a different quest that was competing with his. Would have created more tension and lead up to a debate between the two of them for pros and cons.
Now we know she’s working ‘for him’, it takes a lot of tension out of what’s about to happen.
