No one going outside at -20 degrees???
That’s barely booger freezing temperature.
It certainly isn’t disaster level.
As long as you’re not driving an electric car, -40 degrees or lower is manageable.
(Driving out at -50 in Siberia was also doable with caution … but tbh probably only because everyone there is used to the permafrost.)
Problem with authors having minimal life experience… things can seem more extreme than they actually are… if the author hasn’t actually experienced it.
I’ve also had a client try to tell me that they couldn’t drive at zero degrees because the roads were “lethal”. They weren’t.
