One of the bad things about Shonen is it often lacks consequences for the baddie, the MC just moves on like the merchant bandit hasn’t ever murdered other people to steal their stuff and will never murder other people in the future to steal there stuff. This thinking makes the MC as bad as the baddie because the MC is indirectly responsible for what the dbag does in the future.
