What really triggers me is that so many authors have a shitty understanding of warfare. It’s like they assume that if there is an increase in power in humans there is a equal decrease in intelligence.
If there’s one thing humans are good at, then it’s waging war and killing things. In this story it’s not the middle ages, it’s some sort of modern information age. They have satellites, stations and even drop pods. And they are unable to confirm where the beasts are attacking? What happened to god damn scouts? For crying out loud. Look at “Gate”. This story is doing it well. Modern tactics against medival warriors and mages.
Well, yes, maybe modern weapons are insufficient to kill beasts or monsters, tactics might have to be adapted but intelligence would still play a major role. You need to know where to attack / defend.

For giggels, I asked ChatGPT to put it into a simple mathematical formular. Which is: I′=I−kP
Where:
Explanation:
For example, if k = 0.1 and P = 10, then for a character with a base intelligence I = 50:
I′=50−(0.1×10)=50−1=49
Here, the character loses just a small amount of intelligence as they gain power.
If k = 1 and P = 10, the loss would be more significant:
I′=50−(1×10)=50−10=40
This shows a more pronounced effect, where the character’s intelligence is much more reduced by the power gain.
