I don’t think any girl would try to relate to a sad, chubby old man’s story, especially if the guy is a complete stranger. (Except maybe Santa Claus)
A more realistic (woman) reaction would be to belittle the MC’s experiences as less than her own before hurling insults and questioning where he found the audacity 😤 to compare him to herself when their situations aren’t even remotely similar.
(MC worked without rest to provide for an ungrateful, cheating hoe and a spoiled brat, and was constantly depressed because he didn’t file for a divorce since he was too much of a pushover.
Anastasia was abandoned and despised for her natural talents as a necromancer, was found and given a sense of purpose by a “famous hero,” and fell into a state of desperation after being abandoned by him. She is still a necromancer that most people around her find hateful and/or disgusting, and, due to childhood trauma, she has no reason to believe her situation could possibly get better.
The only similarity is that they both wanted to be useful to ‘bad people.’ However, the MC was from a place where it’d be easy to realize this, had easier access to support programs and resources to extricate himself, and had ample time in a relatively safe environment to do so.)
