Let’s be fair, gramps is not a bad guy. Yeah, he was biased and crude a bit, but he was trying to save their lives. He was, basically, right.
If it were anyone else but this brother-sister pair it would be the most correct choice. Yep, beat them hard and draw their hate but save their lives and destroy their complacency so that they will be able to grow.
