‘Overkill’ or not, running away makes no sense at all. That was obviously only done so they’d miss the drops.

The fact they left is strange to me, as they knew item drops were possible and were insanely excited about the possibility of finding one, why on earth would them overdoing it when fighting the boss make them want to leave?
