The distinctive hatred for the Japanese is still something very much burnt into the hearts of many Asia countries’ people, especially Korea with their history with Japan, but during the time of colonization, that hate is just something different. The character didn’t die being able to held his head high as he is able to see the revolution succeed, instead he died in a Japanese cell just moment before knowing the woman he love died. This is also why I wished the characters went unnamed instead as this one story is just one in thousands of other stories, fueling the hatred of the pitiful people. Overall, this story while personally isn’t as good as the priest, its quality is still extremely good.
