why wasn’t he eating at the restaurant?
The problem with a no damage skill is you can’t really show it off without being attacked. Given the author has decided to put a verbal block on him for some reason that just makes it all the harder to stand out.

Im not creative so I’m not sure what other kind of offensive abilities he could use with his skill except the classic shield bash tactic did he at least try that? I don’t know since it didn’t show his mock battles
