Blue Box - Chapter 159
Comments for chapter "Chapter 159"
An interesting snapshot of Chinatsu’s personality. In this chapter, we’re able to catch a glimpse of Chinatsu dual-natured character. On the one hand, we have the captain of the basketball team — a humble, diligent, driven leader. This part of Chinatsu’s personality grants her great success on the court, and earns respect her amongst her teammates and peers. On the other hand, however, we have Chinatsu, the normal, teenage girl. This is the part of her that develops meaningful interpersonal relationships and processes emotions. Throughout the story, Chinatsu has suppressed this part of herself for the sake of basketball, and as a result, it has been underdeveloped and malnourished. In that sense, this chapter could be considered a major breakthrough for this half of Chinatsu. By showing her body in a swimsuit to Taiki, we can see her maturing into a person who is able to accept and embrace her libido, which given her age, is completely normal drive for a person to possess. In previous chapters, we would have expected to see a Chinatsu who suppressed these feelings, or worse, tried to convince herself they weren’t real. This, thankfully, is no longer the case. Chinatsu has learned how to incorporate these feelings into her greater sense of identity. She is able to act in harmony with her internal feelings, wants, and desires, which for her, is a major step in the journey towards self-realization.
