Crazy railroading here. MC is clearly a magic swordsman who absorbs the souls of the dead for various uses. More like a Deathknight than a necromancer only now gets the ability to summon undead like a real necromancer. Might have been easier to change the name of the series than waste it forcing the MC to start including summons as a main fighting mechanic.

am I the only one wich found it obvious what he will pick and I like the summoner but would also loved to see something new instead of it
Man, another summoning… Why can’t it be “raising undead weapon” instead, that can level up and has a mind much like the summon, that would give variety to this “necromancer” genre… I would love seeing unlimited bladeworks but with all of them weapon made by combining epic soul with materials like bone, scales, fangs or something like that… Sigh I excite myself with imagination but this stereotype necromancer is the reality.

I thought the title necromancer is just a formality, soul eater suits him more.
