The overused trope of the MC doubting himself, poor ret@rd who can’t even understand that there is no difference between being born with a talent or receiving talent later from some entity. When you’re born with talent, that talent is not your merit, is a gift given to you by genetic, luck, and “divine grace”. You receive it, just like he received it later. No difference. Important is how you use it.
And he wastes it in bs.
Of course, after the trope of doubting himself comes the trope of fighting with himself. Which is an incredibly difficult fight, not something that should be as soon as the 12th floor.
This story is a mess.

The reason I think of The Tutorial is Too Hard is because that story did the whole “clone” aspect SO DAMN WELL.
In the Tutorial is Too Hard, the build up to fight the 17th floor version of MC, the fight itself, the concept of it all, the tension and entire plot surrounding the concept is so great it’s truly one of a kind imo.
So now whenever I see a “MC gotta fight a copy” I can’t help but think of the wonderful intensity of Tutorial is Too Hard
