I’m liking this but I’m hoping the MC doesn’t remain a moron throughout the whole story. I can’t help but drop stories with Goku or Naruto level intelligence AKA sub-brick intelligence meaning that calling them sentient beings is an insult to any living being, bugs included.

I can see the old father coming in to save him at the last moment, die and then the MC gains power boost. Or the old man dies so he goes through another training arc
