Not sure if why this is the first time he said shit since he has been brought in the house multiple times while real brother was there. Also, being mad at relatives doesn’t mean you treat you immediate family like crap. The plot really does have huge holes in it. A person like this brother does not exist. You just don’t go from nice to arsehole for these reasons. Especially not to the only family you have left.
