The tarvern scene was a good segway that was necessary to properly lead us into the next arc.

This tavern scene seeming pretty pointless. If this is where he first learns of a Kingdom being taken over, his information network is lacking. That ought to be his first concern. Also what idiot shows off an expensive limited quantity potion like that in a bar for commoners?
