The way this portrays the Japanese discrimination of Foreigners is pretty spot on. Foreigners are treated as interesting oddities more than citizens and they are rarely invited into groups or afforded trust. Getting an appartment as a Foreigner is next to impossible and getting jobs can be very difficult.

I’m so glad that went the realistic route in how a guy wouldn’t say no to this kind of proposition instead of the usual overreacting MC who doesn’t.

Art critics are pompous and delusional engagement-baiters
Their job is to interpret “meaning” behind artworks and “intentions” of the artists, and then describe them in ways to fascinate listeners and readers.
It doesn’t matter if their theories are completely mismatched with the artists nor if there was never any meaning to begin with.
It’s all a spectacle to draw-in and to fool an audience into adding imaginary value to something that would normally have a completely different value depending on the eye of the beholder.
For artists, just focus on what you like and whatever makes you happy making. If you gather a following and earn money, then great. If not, then oh well… Just don’t quit your day-job unless you’ve earned enough money for retirement
