As cookie cutter as I can tell this is going to be… Gao Yang is a real one. Usually every character just takes turns spitting on the mc until “plot” happens. Nah, he actually stood up for him before he even got his class or anything.
Usually in Japanese manga MCs is the lead because of some sort of personal attribute like persistence, skill or unique POV. you know something worth aspiring in real life.
But in Chinese stories, first a MC is defined, and then all good things happen to be just because he is the MC nothing more nothing less. rest of the characters are either simps of MC or villains.
