Since those fantasy stories are based on actual folklore and religion probably means that similar to dragons, humans are a “perfect” bloodline. There are a good few cultivation stories that go use that principle. Btw. one of the main in-universe-explanations in a lot of novels (if you get one, anyway) why most Beings have a human transformation. Because “humans” are a perfect bloodline or even “the perfected form” or something along those lines.

In that dragon dungeon mc says he level up after got the light immunity. Then come out of the dungeon and take 7-8 king dragons out and gets 2 level up and is at 72 so why not level 73 or 74 when he leveled up ?
