His mental world is soooooooo cooked, it is fried, like electric circuits. Every time a part of his soul dies and he becomes more mechanical. More emotionless and more dead inside.
This is lovecraftian kind of existential crisis.

It’s pretty obvious that this story is inspired from the babylonian religion of Enki. In one of the famous interpretations of that religion, After Enki’s fellow Gods left humans and Enki stayed back to observe the civilization he created, he became disappointed at the vile and corrupted nature of humans.
He reprogrammed his original planet which his species used to use as a spaceship to crash towards earth as a means to end the disappointment he gave birth to, and left Earth.
Here that spaceship in that asteroid is clearly implying the space-ship reprogrammed by Enki to hit earth in its course, and the hint that it uses sexadecimal system, the system used by babylonian civilizations.
As for till what extent the author intends to bring elements of the babylonian/mesopotanian religion of Enki and how the story will unfold, I am not sure.
But, one of my major guesses is that this spaceship belongs to the ancient civilization of Earth in this story.
Spoiler: He’s just an avatar and the “Player” was an idiot who keeps on restarting the game because he’s a noob..
Sad. How many actual years he lived .
