Just how BLEEPING STUPID is the MC? He’s had four opportunities to kill that lunatic and let him go to kill more people every bleeping time!
Author! Pay more attention to the relative speeds of the characters. First they’re fast and in the next panel they’re slow. Make up your mind.
Dragging out the fights by having the MC come to a complete stop and wait around for the bad guys to make extra ridiculous moves is not “dramatic”. It’s just annoying. So annoying that I consider giving up on reading the story entirely rather than plow through another repeat of the same old hostage situation blather.
