The theory below me looks promising 
I’m guessing vermouth made a deal with incarnation demon king to reincarnate hamel as a respect for saving his life. That is why senya didn’t praise nor insult because she likes hamel but still hates the demons.
so after hamel died senya stopped smiling and was just serious on developing magic? Perhaps she then found the magic and went to resurrect hamels soul or something and then went away

I so vermouth made a deal with the demon king of reincarnation to have Hamell be reincarnated, Senya probably didn’t agree with this decision even though she wanted hamell to com back to life, so she didn’t talk to vermouth for the rest of his life, and focused on perfecting her magic. She probobly found a magic to reincarnate herself, or extend her lifeforce, and if I had to guess vermouth probobly also asked to be reincarnated, so i bet well see him later in the story
there is two possible answers for his incarceration,
but i want to know how vermouth died before his companions as he is the strongest of them all?
