the worldbuild is great, but why must it be always an psychotic evil rogue superior that threatens a innocent civilian (in that case a law-abiding mage) to get the MC into doing what that shithole of a character is want him to do? it’s such a lame overused trope… and for that I have to wait another year? I can’t see that, beatiful world destroyed by “law enforcers” that doesn’t follow the law…
