They’ve completely changed the ending. In the novel,

** SPOILER **

she actually goes back to her regular life, finds herself back at the hospital where her family attempts t make amend with he — to no avail — and ultimately manages to get back to the story where she and Callisto get married, have a kid or two — can’t quite recall; she attends a uni-like school of sorts, become an archeologist and essentially thrives. She and Callisto’s dynamic very much s remains the same, he being overly possessive of her — albeit in a somewhat endearing way — and having difficulty allowing to travel for work related things.

I can only hope they’ll include it because it’s such a significant part of the story and sets the tone of how. things ultimately end.
