The maid gave her rotten food, but the food had to come from the kitchen. She shouldn’t feel bad at all for the chef. If you are a bread winner, why would you go out of your way to be disrespectful to your employers’ family when you were not formally ordered to?

HOLY CRAP! WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE TYPING SO MUCH
I don’t think people are judging her fairly here. We see her “family” reacting like this after she’s changed, but if she would have kept her old behavior they would not defend her or even believe her. And it was them who taught her to act like this in the first place, she keeps brining up incidents where they stole her stuff, implicated her for things she didn’t do etc. So maybe her “brothers” grew up since doing it and are now remorseful for it. Maybe her “father” is seeing her in a better light now and was never quite as cruel as to, you know, murder her unlike the rest of them. It doesn’t mean that any sane human being would trust them at this point.
As for the chef, she totally deserved it. Messing with someone’s food means you shouldn’t be trusted near it again, and why did she do it? just for the sake of being cruel, because she thought she could get away with it by the way she saw mc treated by her ” family”.

this story is pissing me off i’ll be honest. the main reason all these people dislike her so much? well, the root of the problem, who hated her originally? the brothers and father, right? and because of them, everyone else did. and yet, they are let off without anything, let alone an apology, while these characters that only did this because they saw the other family members hating her, aren’t quite as lucky.
i don’t feel sympathy, in fact quite the opposite, for characters like the head chef, but that doesn’t mean i can just ignore the harm caused by the brothers and father, maybe the butler too. frankly, it infuriates me
