That was (probably) unintentionally hilarious! The ‘real‘ hero is facing a crisis rationally but knows his ship must be sacrificed, that 100s or 1000s may die from the collateral damage, possibly ruining his ‘hero’ clout–but he must, at all costs, stop them.
Meanwhile, our MC is like: whale meat?? So delicious, I must acquire it at all costs!

They were frozen in fear, as in how much do we have to sacrifice in this battle, but MC thought they were thinking of eating the legendary whale, like it’s Toriko manga.

He doesn’t want attention but is standing there as an alias and STILL not really helping much. He could have offed that advanced demon when it appeared so nobody would be in harms way, nobody would have even be able to know it was him. But, sorry, what would we do all those chapters then? -_-
