The kotatsu isn’t a symbol of culture its a symbol of Japan’s insufficient heating & cooling infrastructure. So if anything it stands for technological inferiority. Btw, did you know most Japanese homes don’t have even a single computer in them. (not talking about Tokyo but the country as a whole)
