Hmm… what is there to say that hasn’t already been said?
Maou is learning more about the intricacies of the world of “humans”, — Ente Islaians also fall under the species of human unless specified otherwise — becoming more familiar with the world in general and not being blinded by the kingly status and his past greed. He’s more… down to earth now. Emi is thinking, probably, “How is the Devil King capable of changing like that? He’s a demon!” Well, that’s Emi’s defensive mechanism still kicking in, because he took what was precious from her. To ever view him as a staunch ally still irks her… but she grows ever closer to being able to come to terms with her past trauma and come to forgive Maou and perhaps even herself, and others around her…
As I said before, Maou wasn’t the first “demon king”, something set all this in motion. The old Satan may’ve accidentally set into motion Maou’s ascent into greed as a king, and a domino effect ensues…
One action causes a chain of events to occur. O misfortune, indeed.
