Anyone else think that the mc is being toyed around by the demons? He’s been doing everything the eight finned demons want, hes only been able to save his squad members aside from that anybody else he tried to save died.

Can someone explain me, why the fuck he just didn’t took that three cristals that he had already found, that demon just took a little of energy from it, just enough to go from 3 to 4 finned, it was 3 cristals, all of them where supposed to be enough to sustain an entire city for months, he just needed to take it back, why he did not?
