Suggestion. (not that tls ever gonna see this) replace all instances of fin with crest. Seeing as the “fins” on demon King are more spike than fin, this word fits much better even if it isn’t a direct translation of the word. Also crest sounds way better than fin.
The only problem with the genetic memory evolution thing is that there’s no where to go once you’ve hit the top of your genetic memory. Lucky for the demons their cap is higher than the humans current powerlevel.

I see. He is collecting memories. Genetic Memories and is using it to evolve. Not gonna live these finned demons are starting to give Bleach Hollow vibes. Especially the whole zerg/carnivore evolution thing. But this story still interesting enough to keep my attention. Can’t wait for more and how MC discovers how his new powers really work.
so if he has to consume the higher level to evolve to the next step, how will he get to 8th finn, is there a 9th finn demon he can consume?
“Finn” should be “horn” makes way more sense and doesn’t sound actually mentally damaged
