Keith’s plan is still in motion. Not only was the Count removed for his failure as a Commander, he’ll probably push that the failure happened at all because of the stubbornness of the Noble Council, have more authority transferred to the Royal Family, and have the entire council revamped by people of his choosing. And speaking of people of his choosing, his plan probably also accounted for achievements by Keith’s direct students. He wants Keith’s influence to light a fire under the academy’s faculty, apart from Selene, to raise better Knights. Starting with Keith’s class, possibly assigning them all to replenish the ranks of the 11th Knight Order. The ideal goal being to produce Knights so strong, their casualties will drop, using that strength to regain lost territories and push the monsters back, with the 11th being used as a model unit.

Alan is essentially implementing reforms across their entire military command structure, and kicking out the corrupt and incompetent nobles from their positions, and manipulating events in his favor to do it, by strengthening their Knights and taking advantage of the achievements they’ll bring.
