If I remember the story so far, the MC had reached the peak of the innate realm, reaching the point where he could have transcended the tribulation.
But he unsummoned the tribulation and condensed his cultivation to the 1st stage of the innate realm. And since he now summoned the tribulation clouds again, he’s already reached his former level, just much stronger than before, and is now ready to become an immortal (sine in this story once you transcend the tribulation your lifespan becomes unlimited).
