Is death a threat to the MC? Rather why did you hear this story and not the millions of other ones that happened in all the paralegal universes? Because Death is not cheated naturally by the MC and companions. Rather Mc’s and party dies repeatedly BUT this does not make a good story and is not told.

Only the MC’s, that through talent , struggle and luck actually win become the ones you hear about. And , usually, these are the only ones you hear about so it is too easy to believe that they always win, or magically reincarnate and try again.

However the fact is that everyone is not powerful enough to do what they want to do, and the MC, and maybe the Demon king, are EXCEPTIONS that prove the rule. The MC shows you what is not normal so you can see the pain everyone else has.
The same applies to death and the exception that proves it. It is death and cannot be beaten by normal people, which is why the MC becomes the MC—-except that death is NORMAL and if everything is not done right it is what WILL NORMALLY happen.
So you are supposed to feel anxious through the unlikely process and rejoice with the MC when the hard work pays off. Its also the reason we don’t like “Mary Sue” who obviously achieves everything through the authors laziness or to prove a political point.
