It feels like am intentional ironic twist, but by this point it’s easy to understand that author is simply oblivious. Right after the chapter of MC proudly protecting his methaphoric slave collar in the face of bad slaver – because the problem here is not the slavery itself, you see, it’s the bad slavers at fault, lmao – we see MC’s opinion completely invalidated because the reality is that he is just a worthless slave, magically leashed to his owner. Pretty funny but also sad to see MC completely at peace with the situation where his life, his freedom, his future is totally outside of his control with a simple whim of a moody teenager. And to think he is supposed to be a royalty originally? What a joke.
