Finally, some consequences for your actions, MC. You thought it was a good idea to go against a DLC Bonus Boss with your underleveled party? You thought you could have several moments for banter with allies, pep talk with character growth and showing off your cool tricks – right in the middle of the Raid Boss battle? Think again. What? You just wanted to make a difference and not blow your cover at the same time, to have your cake and eat it? That’s the recipe of failure. Nobody cares about your shounen excuses. Of course, the author has consistently written power fantasy, so MC will inevitably win by Revealing the True Power (TM), invoking Power of Friendship (TM) or some such drivel, and the girl will get a magic healing/prothesis to handwave all the real consequences, as usual. _He_ won’t really experience loss, it’s all just window dressing.
But for a single shining moment the author was actually based.

Damn lucky the MC was there of half the countries in the world would be eaten by acid rain. It amazing what he has done with this party even though this dragon should be able to beat 3 or 4 combined top tier armies.
It just shows how professional the MC is and how he can ‘connect’ with others around him, even on the battlefield, so that he suddenly leads a force many times stronger than it should have been.
Of course, he always must fail a bit for the plot but that is just window dressing, and the party, professionalism and growth he has invested so heavily in will have its chance to shine.
